Rakhi - Threads of Love
Raksha Bandhan is an ancient holiday celebrated in India that quite literally means the bond of protection. In this holiday, threads of love called Rakhi, are tied around the wrists of brothers by their sisters as vows of keeping them safe. Traditionally, this holiday was celebrated for the protection of brothers, since women were usually not “sent out in the world.”
Keeping traditions alive while modernizing it in a way that made sense, on this holiday we celebrate all special bonds in our life; the unbreakable bond of sisterhood, the bond between family and friends, and the bond of humanity that unites us all.
We are super excited to support and collaborate with The Chai Mommas for their Raksha Bandhan Campaign and their efforts to support the children of Manav Sadhna’s Earn N’ Learn Program - a program whose mission is to serve the underprivileged With each purchase, a portion of the proceeds are donated to this organization to do even more great work for these children and to do good in the world.
No celebration is complete without something sweet ! Don’t forget to get a box of assorted truffles or your favorite chocolate bars along with it. Add a Rakhi to your thoughtfully curated gift box!
