We had quite a morning at the Elements warehouse this past Wednesday. The kind where you look at each other and say, "Is this real life?"
The fire inspectors showed up for a surprise visit. Nothing unusual⦠until one of them looked at our racks of cacao and calmly said:
For a moment there, it felt like our entire operation was one spark away from being labeled "the world's yummiest and cleanest fire hazard." Imagine telling people: "Sorry, we can't ship your chocolates this week. Our cacao is too flammable."
Superfoods can be funny like that. Turmeric stains everything. Ashwagandha smells like⦠well, ashwagandha. And apparently cacao just wants to spontaneously combust in thin air.
Long story short: a powerful exhaust fan and a filter later, we passed the inspection. We didn't get shut down. No explosions occurred.
Just another day building a scrappy company β juggling fire codes, superfoods, and a whole lot of love.
