What makes Elements Truffles Ayurvedic and Other Chocolate Not-So Ayurvedic?

What makes Elements Truffles Ayurvedic and Other Chocolate Not-So Ayurvedic?

It all comes down to balance and simplicity.

Ayurveda teaches us that by living a balanced lifestyle we can achieve harmony and experience our true nature. More specifically, when we eat a balanced diet based on the needs of our individual constitution, we experience a state of balance in our whole being – body, mind, and spirit. We feel grounded, energized, sharp, creative, and connected to ourselves and others.

The issue with chocolate products from conventional brands is their highly processed nature. For example, most store-bought chocolate is made with large quantities of processed sugar and preservatives. One typical bar contains cane sugar, milk, chocolate, cocoa butter, lecithin, palm oil (what?) and natural flavor (again, what?).

Elements Truffles, on the other hand, keeps it simple. All Elements Truffles products are made with all-natural, locally-sourced ingredients that increase prana (life force energy) and support the attainment of balance in mind, body, and spirit. All chocolates are made with ethically sourced three staple ingredients: Organic Raw Cacao Butter, Raw Honey, and Organic Raw Cacao Powder, along with our specially-crafted additions of pure essential oils and Ayurveda superfoods. Our Peppermint Infused with Lavender Bar, for instance, contains Peppermint Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil, Organic Lavender Flowers and Himalayan Sea Salt. We don’t use “natural flavor” because our flavors are truly from nature.

Most processed chocolates can lead to imbalance, according to Ayurveda, as their high sugar content increases the Kapha dosha and their processed nature lowers prana. This can disturb the dosha balance and lead to ill effects (think weight gain, acne, dullness, and cravings). Elements Truffles, on the other hand, are sweetened simply by using raw honey (which is low glycemic), and each bar contains only 5 grams of sugar per serving. Also, while the chocolates are being made, ancient healing sounds are played, to infuse the subtle positivity and high-vibes in each chocolate bar.

You might be thinking, “Chocolate is chocolate. How can Elements actually be healthier than others?”

Remember what we said about balance? Our chocolate is crafted with a special blend of ingredients that complement each other and are highly Saatvic in nature. Saatva is a Sanskrit word that means purity, harmony, and balance. Our ingredients also support digestion, and a healthy digestion, according to Ayurveda, is key to a healthy life.

Not only that, as per Ayurveda all the six tastes; sweet, salty, sour, pungent, bitter, and astringent; should be eaten at every meal for us to feel satisfied and to ensure that all major food groups and nutrients are represented. Did you know every bar of Elements Truffles has all these six tastes of Ayurveda? Each taste has an intimate relationship with the doshas and personal balance. Sweet taste strengthens your kapha; Salty, Sour, and Pungent taste strengthens your pitta; Pungent, Bitter and Astringent strengthens the vata.

The beauty of Ayurveda is that you do not have to sacrifice decadence in order to experience that state of harmony. So bring on the cacao! (In moderation, of course)
